Private Tour, Tasting, and Lunch at Robert Mondavi Winery

Please join us for an exclusive private event at the highly reputed Robert Mondavi Winery. We have arranged for a special tour and tasting for the Harvard Club of San Francisco. We'll have a behind the scenes view of the winery, followed by a light lunch and tasting of select wines in the Courtyard.

Robert Mondavi, a visionary Winemaker, innovator and brilliant marketer, who helped bring worldwide recognition for the wines of the Napa Valley, died in May of last year, at the age of 94. In a career that spanned eight decades, Mondavi led by example, setting the highest standards for his winery, and inspiring California winemakers to produce wines that could compete with the best in the world. His name, influence, passion and joie de vive spread well beyond Napa and California. Winemakers around the world credited Mondavi with inspiring them to set higher standards and make better wines. "Robert Mondavi left an indelible legacy on the California wine industry," said Marvin R. Shanken, editor and publisher of Wine Spectator. "He touted California wines as world class--as good as the best of Europe--and tirelessly traveled the world spreading that message, making believers out of millions of wine lovers."

Mondavi was a pioneer in New World wines, and steadfastly promoted labeling wines by varietal, rather than generically. He is credited with bringing leading technical advancement in both viticulture and oenology to the wine industry. Mondavi's passion and drive led him to become one of the most influential and admired winemakers in California history, and his legacy lives on in the artfully crafted, high quality, exceptional wines that continue to be made at his namesake winery today. Mondavi received the Distinguished Citizen Award from the Harvard Club of San Francisco in 1985.

The tour, lunch, and tasting will last approximately two hours.
