The Dartmouth Club of Sillicon Valey has invited Harvard Club members and
their guests to celebrate the top sailors in the Western hemisphere, the
best College on the planet, and the Navy’s Blue Angels, all from the
deck of the classic schooner, Gaslight… lunch and Appleton Estate Rum
cocktails included!
As we all know, San Francisco Bay will be home to the 2013 America's Cup
Finals and the Louis Vuitton Cup, America's Cup Challenger Series.
Additionally, there will be only two America's Cup World Series events
in 2012. This is an opportunity to experience, up close, the second of
these World Series events... with a fly over from the Navy’s Blue
Angels.
Alumni are treated to a front seat view of the fleet races among all 11
America’s Cup contenders, all of whom will be using AC45 catamarans. In
addition, we will witness to the Match Racing Quarter-Finals, as well
as Finals, between the top 8 to determine which yachts go to the
Semi-Finals.
Schedule
12:00pm: Boarding the schooner Gaslight
12:30pm: Viewing Two Fleet Races, Match Racing Semi Finals, and Finals
5:00pm: Return to dock
Note: The America's Cup is a trophy awarded to the winner of the
America's Cup match races between two sailing yachts. One yacht, known
as the defender, represents the yacht club that currently holds the
America's Cup and the second yacht, known as the challenger, represents
the yacht club that is challenging for the cup. The America's Cup is the
oldest active trophy in international sport.
This event is limited to 40 participants. Any questions about the event please send email to James von Rittmann at president@daasv.org
