Community Service
The Club coordinates a variety of public service programs in which many members
enthusiastically participate.
The Schools Committee interviews undergraduate applicants considering Harvard College, sponsors the
Under-graduate Luncheon, and coordinates the Harvard Prize Book Program.
The Club has recently forged a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco (BGCSF). The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Please follow this link to learn more about our partnership and how you can get involved.
Mature Alumni Job Information Committee (MAJIC) is a member-assisted self-help process for alumni/ae
who are experiencing downsizing, re-engineering, or part-timing out of the workforce. It serves as a catalyst
and platform for jobs-assistance-related projects.

Speakers & Forums
The Club’s calendar of events includes fascinating and dynamic speakers who captivate
audiences with topics of worldwide and local interest. Club members have enjoyed speakers such as Milton Friedman,
Senior Research Fellow, the Hoover Institution on “Financing Education” and Marshall Goldman, Associate Director of
the Russian Research Center at Harvard on “Lost Opportunity: Why Economic Reforms in Russia Have Not
Worked.” Priority reservations which generally include a luncheon, reception, or dinner are extended to members.
Harvard Club forums provide a valuable opportunity for alumni/ae to learn more about a subject for three to five
meetings held over a series of months. The forums are provocative and an ideal setting to meet, socialize, and passionately
discuss “real world” issues. There has been enthusiastic interest in forums such as “Medicine,
Ethics and the Law;” “Careers in the 90s?” and “The Internet.”
